Digital Iran: A New Step Toward Training the AI Generation
By Zahra Vejdani , Tech Reporter | Borna News Agency: The Head of the Secretariat of the Headquarters for the Development and Application of Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Iran announced the launch of a new path that, through strengthening mathematics education and skills training for students and university attendees, will pave the way for nurturing artificial intelligence elites in the country.

Tehran - BORNA - In the closing ceremony of the national program “Digital Iran,” Emadeddin Fatamizadeh, Head of the Secretariat of the Headquarters for the Development and Application of Artificial Intelligence Technologies, stressed the significance of artificial intelligence in the future of education and employment.

He stated: “What has begun today is only a starting point, and the road ahead will require serious skills training for students and university attendees.”

The Future of Jobs Hinges on Understanding and Applying Artificial Intelligence

Referring to the fact that the development of artificial intelligence among school and university students is one of the key objectives of the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology, Fatamizadeh emphasized: “This field will lead to the redefinition of many professions. For instance, in medicine and especially in radiology we will witness profound changes. Therefore, students must prepare themselves for a future in which some jobs will disappear and others will be redesigned.”

Artificial Intelligence and Mathematics as the Drivers of Transformation

Fatamizadeh noted: “In recent years, declining interest in the field of mathematics in universities and high schools has become a serious challenge. Yet mathematics is the fundamental basis for training scientists and theorists in artificial intelligence. If we limit ourselves to superficial training, at best we will become proficient users of artificial intelligence tools rather than producers of knowledge and technology.”

Strengthening Mathematics Education as a National Priority

The Head of the Secretariat of the Headquarters for the Development and Application of Artificial Intelligence Technologies emphasized: “Strengthening mathematics education from secondary school through universities must be pursued as a serious priority so that the country’s top talents are once again drawn to this field and the path for cultivating elites and theorists in artificial intelligence within the country is paved.”
